The collection auger conveys and groups corn residues into a strip (swath). The swath is formed without the residue touching the ground, thus remaining clean. The material can then be easily collected by a self-loading wagon or a forage harvester-loader.
With the same pass, the farmer can harvest the corn and create the swath that will allow an easy harvesting of the corn residues: an excellent system that contributes to a sustainable development and creates added value to the agricultural income, as the biomass harvested will be used to create biomethane. Moreover, what remains after the transformation into renewable energy is an organic compound that can be reused as an excellent fertiliser.
It should also be noted that, for sustainability reasons, the current European law concerning biomethane production severely limits the possibility of using corn (and other) crops for the production of this fuel.
