About
Grassland is predominantely managed uniformly across all fields. Since grassland is often located on marginal sites, site heterogeneity is very pronounced and therefore differentiated use adapted to the site-specific yield potential is desirable. For larger fields, sub-site-specific management is also an option. The basis for the introduction of differentiated and thus optimized grassland management is the farmer's many years of experience and, above all, yield data, e.g. from the forage harvester. On this basis, poorer (sub-)plots should be used more extensively and attention should be paid to differentiated fertilization, reseeding and cutting frequency, especially on the medium-yielding (sub-)areas.
