About
The PosiFarm research project, led by Münster University of Applied Sciences and developed in close partnership with several companies, has resulted in a solution that uses GPS/RTK-based field planning to predefine the sowing process and later utilise the sown coordinates for effective mechanical weed control. This approach enables the cultivation of crops such as sugar beet without the use of herbicides.
Electric motors on each sowing unit establish the basis for mechanical weed management during the sowing process. The hoeing machine operates conventionally within the crop rows and uses driven blades positioned to the left and right of the plants to work between them. With a hoeing speed of approximately 7 km/h, the system achieves a high area output.
Münster University of Applied Sciences intends to use this platform to present the solution to a professional audience and engage in dialogue with interested stakeholders.
