About
For Bosch, it's crucial to offer tailor-made and robust solutions for the Off-Road (OR) segment, both now and in the future, with the necessary system expertise. The market for OR applications will continue to be dominated by diesel and diesel derivatives for the foreseeable future. Diesel derivatives, such as HVO, can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. Our portfolio in Fuel Injection Equipment (FIE) is broad, and our components are designed to be future-proof, meeting the demands of upcoming fuel systems. In summary, we are the right partner for the OR segment, offering a variety of services that help our customers increase efficiency and reduce emissions. Renewable fuels, both in pure form and as blends, are already available and market-ready and offer significant potential for reducing CO₂ emissions. This potential can be effectively utilized not only in road transport but also in the off-road segment (OR segment), for example, in agriculture and forestry. Bosch is intensively committed to making the combustion engine – which in many cases represents the only viable solution for the OR segment – sustainable and future-proof in road traffic as well through innovative solutions. Significantly stricter legal requirements for CO₂ reduction apply in road traffic, making it a key driver for technological innovations. One example of this is the Digital Fuel Twin (DFT), a system for vehicle-specific verification of CO₂ savings achieved through the use of renewable fuels. By providing such solutions for road traffic, we aim to ensure that Bosch components can continue to be used economically in agricultural vehicles and machinery, as development depends heavily on the road as a volume carrier. Currently, there are no CO₂ reduction requirements as strict in the OR segment as there are on the road. Nevertheless, very similar requirements, such as those evident in tenders for construction sites, are becoming increasingly important. Due to the often different structure from fuel supply to refueling, the current DFT solution cannot be transferred to the OR segment without adaptation. However, it certainly makes sense to analyze what can be transferred from the road to the OR segment.
