The newly developed New Holland Sidewinder™ Armrest integrates an analog drive lever designed for high mechanical robustness and fine signal resolution. Two specially developed CAN modules ensure stable, low-latency data communication both within the armrest and with the vehicle architecture. The entire system is designed in accordance with functional safety requirements (FUSI) and meets high protection requirements against liquids, dust, and weather influences. Despite complex electronics and increased functional density, a compact design has been achieved without compromising ergonomics, operating logic, or system reliability.
