Guard and knife section replacement in record time
With the new SCH® EasyCut 3 QuickFit®, GROUP SCHUMACHER has developped a cutting system that, compared to the previous model, allows the individual components to be replaced three times faster and, in addition to significant time savings, ensures easier handling and greater convenience.
The nuts on the guard and knife section are only loosened and not completely removed. The user only needs one tool for this. Another advantage is that there are no loose parts that can fall off and get lost. In addition, the system can be assembled using standard fasteners. No special screws are
required, so repairs can be carried out quickly and easily if necessary. Following the successful launch of the ARISTA crop lifter as the first product in the QuickFit series, the range is now being expanded to include the QuickFit guard and the QuickFit knife section.
The new QuickFit guard: V-design and new shape
Thanks to the U-shaped opening at the rear edge of the new QuickFit guard, it can be easily pulled out of the cutting system after loosening the nuts. The nuts do not need to be completely loosened, nor is it necessary to counterhold the bolt underneath the cutter bar. When inserting the guard, a spacer ensures that the mounting gap is kept open. Thanks to the new V-design of the guard, not only the cutting area has been increased by 10%, but also the bending stiffness has been improved by 50%. The guard widens from the tip to the base.
This ensures a low-stress transition, which lowers risk of breakage and significantly increases service life. Furthermore, the new V-geometry allows foreign objects to be deflected more effectively. In addition, parallel overlapping metal formings on the upper side of the guard increase its stability,
reduce the risk of breakage in the event of a collision with a foreign object, and increase the load capacity of the guard, e.g., when using crop lifters.
The new QuickFit knife section: Perfect form fit with locking plate
If a section does break during the harvesting process, it can be replaced quickly and easily thanks to the new QuickFit system. After loosening the nuts, the knife section can be quickly and easily removed from the cutting system by tilting it slightly. The form-fitting recess on the rear edges of the knife sections is connected on both sides by a connecting plate, the so-called locking plate,
which replaces the classic section joint. This perfect form-fitting connection enables the direct transfer of tensile forces from knife section to knife section. The result: a significantly higher overall material cross-section of the knife back and section for the transfer of tensile forces.
