The model MHY-4 is based on the successful pressure sensor model MH-4 that was especially designed to withstand the harsh conditions in the mobile working machines market. The wetted materials were adapted to meet the requirements of hydrogen pressure measurement, avoiding hydrogen embrittlement and ensuring a long-term stable pressure signal.
Developed for hydrogen pressure measurement in mobile applications
The model MHY-4 will be certified according ISO 19987 standard for both 350 bar and 700 bar tank systems. Additional test are performed to proof compliance to the standards CSA/ANSI HGV3.1 and EC79/2009. The materials in contact with hydrogen avoid hydrogen embrittlement, ensuring permanent safe operation.
The robustness of the product allows operating conditions at temperatures between -40 °C and +125 °C [-40 ... +257 °F], field strengths of up to 100 V/m without interference as well as vibrations up to 40 g and shocks up to 100 g.
NEW sensor technology - Highest signal stability
Hydrogen can have a negative influence on the signal stability of electronic pressure sensors. To tackle this challenge WIKA developed an improved sensing element based on the proven thinfilm-technology – manufactured in-house at WIKA. An additional, only nanometer-thick, layer eliminates the effect of hydrogen on the pressure signal, ensuring a long-term reliable measurement.
