About the Speaker
Dr. Martin Hoppen ist Leiter der Abteilung „Umwelt und Digitalisierung“ am Institut für Mensch‑Maschine‑Interaktion (MMI) der RWTH Aachen.
Er studierte Informatik an der Universität Bonn und promovierte an der RWTH. Seit fast 20 Jahren beschäftigt er sich mit der Digitalisierung der Forstwirtschaft in Forschung und Entwicklung. Ein Fokus seiner Arbeiten liegt dabei auf den Themen Datenverwaltung und Datenmodellierung sowie Industrie 4.0- und Datenraum-Technologien für die Forstwirtschaft (Wald und Holz 4.0).

S&C Forestry Forum: Current and Future Development Trends in Forestry Technology
Partners such as RWTH Aachen University (Chair and Institute for Human-Machine Interaction), the German forest-machine manufacturer HSM Hohenloher Spezialmaschinenbau GmbH and the company PONSSE Plc. from Finland will present current research projects, trends in the machine development and innovative solutions for driver-machine communication – offering a glimpse into the future of forestry machines and their technological development.
The goal is to implement a network panel that gives developers and engineers the opportunity to exchange ideas and network.
