Green Girls 2026 is a project funded by the European Social Fund (ESF Plus) that inspires girls and young women to explore the diversity of green careers, thereby specifically strengthening the recruitment of young talent and promoting equal opportunities in the agricultural sector. The goal is to break down traditional gender roles and present young women with practical, new career opportunities in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, agricultural technology and more. In three modules – workshops at schools, hands-on activities at the agra Landwirtschaftsausstellung 2026, and excursions on Girls' Day – Green Girls provides interactive insights and builds bridges between businesses, education, and politics. This project, initially based in Saxony, thus sends a clear signal for a sustainable, diverse agricultural sector and represents a flagship project that could also be implemented in other federal states and at the federal level.
