Julian Buckley – Professional biography

 

Julian Buckley has been a journalist and magazine editor for more than 20 years. He now covers the global power market covering on- and off-highway machines and power generation, but has previously written about the automotive and polymer/plastics industries. 

Since 2021 he has been editor of Power Progress International magazine and the Power Progress website, both of which are part of the KHL Group’s Power division. 

He started his publishing career as editor of JATO News, one of the first online automotive news services. From there he became editor of Automotive Manufacturing Solutions magazine, which featured the machines and tech behind vehicle (auto, truck and bus) production.

After AMS, Julian became a principal analyst for the automotive division of IHS Markit (now S&P Automotive), researching and writing extended reports on automotive supply chains. After this, he served as the editor of Motor Trader magazine, covering the retail vehicle market in the UK. 

Prior to joining KHL Group, Julian was responsible for relaunching and editing Plastics & Rubber World, a magazine published by Crane Communications which focused on the tech behind polymer development, production and usage in the UK and Europe.

Across his career, Julian has hosted a variety of conference events and award shows. He has also visited more than 150 OEM vehicle, machine and engine manufacturing plants and Tier component supplier locations around the world.
