We know how important ecology is today, which is why our engineers designed the Thor weeder harrow.
The Thor weeder harrow was created with ecological farming in mind. It can be used both on arable fields and for year-round reclamation of intensively exploited grasslands. Thanks to its modular frame design, the machine perfectly adapts to the terrain, ensuring uniform and stable cultivation across the entire working width. Thor consists of three working sections, each of which can operate independently if needed.
The first section is a drag harrow, designed to level molehills and boar damage, as well as evenly distribute organic material (e.g., manure, slurry).
The second section consists of two rows of 12 mm spring tines, ideal for field cultivation, meadow aeration, and above all for removing old turf and weeds.
The third section features three rows of smaller 9 mm spring tines, equipped with hydraulic height adjustment. This allows the operator to dynamically change the machine’s application: the pressure of the section can be increased, reduced, or completely disengaged. This flexibility makes it possible to work only with selected sections – useful when lighter tillage is sufficient, or when excess plant residues risk clogging the rear rows of tines. In field work, this section eliminates weeds at the germination stage, while on grasslands it separates the soil from turf uprooted by the previous sections.
The use of two different tine types makes the Thor a truly versatile tool.
The frame is designed for use with a pneumatic seeder, allowing sowing, overseeding, or fertilizing in a single pass. This optimizes crop production and improves control over the biodiversity of desired plant species in meadows.
Another advantage of the machine is its universal and practical design, created to provide farmers with a reliable and efficient tool. Our engineers selected the best available technical solutions, improving and modernizing them, while paying close attention to design. This resulted in the development of a modern weeder harrow – the Thor BC60 by AWEMAK.
The project was developed by graduates of the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków and the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.
