The innovative hay and straw cleaner, being the first mobile machine, now provides a facility to de-dust feed and litter on the field itself. The hay and straw cleaner picks up the dry material, cleans it gently, turns it and then deposits it laterally in the swath. In a single work step, the crop is thus not only de-dusted, but also aired and turned to assist the drying process. By using the Hay and Straw Field Cleaner, the quality of feed and litter can be significantly, measurably improved at low cost. The reduced dust pollution also considerably improves safety at work in the stables. The cleaning capacity of the machine has been continuously optimised after numerous practical deployments and field trials as well as discussions with universities, agricultural machinery manufacturers and leading equestrian centres, going through a series of prototypes, each an improvement over the previous one.
At Agritechnica 2025 trade fair now the fifth prototype of an all-round optimised hay and straw field cleaner is presented – available with a complete and professionally created CAD data set for future licensees. After numerous field trials, a great deal of practical experience and feedback from different test operations, it now manifests itself as a robust trailed machine with an innovative drive concept and several design improvements. At the Agritechnica2023, the Hay and Straw cleaner was exhibited as a 3-point trailed machine. Since it had several disadvantages, we have now done away with this concept. The difference to its predecessor version is that the new hay and straw cleaner can now also be used with smaller tractors, can be better monitored visually and has a much bigger cleaning space. Thus, the efficiency and firepower of the machine have been considerably improved.
