Reggio Emilia confirms its position as a center of excellence in technological innovation, thanks to companies such as Omni Powertrain Technologies. With its Italian headquarters, the group stands out globally as a supplier of cutting-edge solutions for mechanical, hydrostatic, and electric transmission systems for a wide range of fieds, from agriculture to construction, mining, commercial vehicles, and sports vehicles, serving the world's leading OEMs.
Founded in the late 1950s, the group has evolved into an established manufacturer with global operations, headquarters in Houston, Texas, and production divisions in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and Shanghai, China.
One of the most significant innovations recently introduced and presented during the most important exhibitions, such as Bauma in April 2025, is the new oil-cooled electric motor. This innovation represents a crucial step forward in the efficiency and performance of electric motors.
Oil cooling offers significantly better heat exchange than the traditional water/glycol mix. This leads to a better temperature management, allowing motors to achieve superior performance and operate more efficiently in “continuous” mode, i.e., for prolonged periods and at high speeds, while increasing at the same time the performances in the operating range where the temperature remains stable, maximizing motor reliability and durability.
