With the NEO series, SIKO presents the next generation of reliable, compact, and safe wire-actuated sensors for use in mobile machinery such as industrial trucks, cranes, and lifting equipment. These sensors offer measuring lengths of up to 15 meters and are based on the PURE.MOBILE platform – a sensor technology specifically developed for commercial vehicles.
The name NEO stands for “New Electronic Options.” The sensors operate using non-contact magnetic measurement technology, making them wear-free. The integrated mechatronic multiturn system functions without batteries or energy-generating systems, ensuring maintenance-free operation for years – even under extreme temperatures.
This new generation features an intelligent housing design that protects the electronics while remaining compact. The impact-resistant reinforced plastic housing is resistant to media and UV radiation. Protection classes such as IP67 and optionally IP6K9K, along with high shock and vibration resistance and E1 approval according to UN ECE R10, emphasize the robustness.
The sensors are up to 25% slimmer than their predecessors, making them ideal for machines with limited installation space. The NEO series includes models with various measuring lengths: SG31NEO (up to 3.2 m), SG61NEO (up to 6 m), SG121NEO (up to 12 m), and SG150NEO (up to 15 m). They are based on proven wire-actuated mechanisms with high durability and offer options to prevent icing as well as a variety of cable attachment variants.
For safety-critical applications, variants with CANopen Safety up to Performance Level d (PLd) are available. Connection options include radial or axial configurations, with M12 connectors or cable outlets. In the future, the series will be expanded to include interfaces such as SAE J1939 and its safety-related derivatives.
The NEO series combines robust mechanics with smart sensor technology, offering a powerful, flexible, and compact solution for demanding applications in mobile machinery.
