With the MSK5000CAN, SIKO expands its portfolio with a compact incremental magnetic sensor featuring a CANopen interface, perfectly suited for mobile machinery, automation systems, and industrial applications. The sensor stands out for its robust design, easy integration, and high measurement accuracy.
Compact Design for Flexible Applications
Thanks to its compact ZM form factor and zinc die-cast housing, the MSK5000CAN can be easily integrated into tight installation spaces. Its rugged construction and IP67 protection rating allow operation in demanding environments – from -25 °C to +80 °C at 100% relative humidity.
Precise Measurement with High Repeatability
The sensor uses magnetic measurement technology and offers a maximum resolution of 5 µm with a repeatability of ±0.01 mm. It is compatible with various magnetic scale elements such as the MB500/1 magnetic tape, MR500 magnetic ring, and MBR500 magnetic tape ring. The reading distance can be up to 2 mm.
CANopen Interface for Seamless System Integration
The integrated CANopen interface (Spec. 2.0A, DS301, DS406, ISO 11898) enables fast and reliable communication in networked systems. The encoder supports flexible addressing (Node ID 1–127) and baud rates from 50 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s. Typical cycle time is 1.5 ms, with a power-up time of less than 150 ms.
Easy Mounting and Electrical Connection
Connection is made via a 5-pin M12 connector (A-coded). Installation is straightforward thanks to clearly defined tolerances and distances: the sensor allows lateral offsets of ±2 mm, angular misalignments of ±3°, and tilt deviations of ±3°. Note: The cable between the sensor and connector cannot be shortened or extended afterward.
Technical Highlights at a Glance:
The MSK5000CAN is the ideal solution for precise, robust, and cost-effective position measurement in dynamic applications. With its CANopen communication, high repeatability, and compact design, it offers maximum flexibility with minimal installation effort.
