40 years of Reichhardt
For 40 years, REICHHARDT has been developing and producing innovative electronic solutions for agricultural technology, construction machinery, and municipal applications. As a smart farming partner, the company is well known among farmers and contractors.
The portfolio in the field of precision farming includes ISOBUS applications, automatic steering systems, and data platforms, for example for the provision of RTK signals via an innovative cluster solution (RTK CLUE).
Thanks to the ISOBUS compatibility of its products and the possibility of upgrading fleets sustainably and cost-effectively for Agriculture 4.0, Reichhardt is the ideal partner for businesses of all sizes.
The Reichhardt subsidiary in the USA serves North and South America as well as Australia. The Reichhardt Group employs around 90 people at its three locations and has a close partnership with BHTronik GmbH for innovative electronic products.
Back in 1985, Andreas Reichhardt laid the foundation for the development, production, and distribution of an electronic tramline control system for Hassia seed drills and cutting height controls for Claas combine harvesters with his sole proprietorship. He soon expanded the production program to include the construction of driver cabs and complete cable harnesses for ROPA sugar beet harvesters.
The development of the first control electronics based on special software and powerful on-board computers for self-driving sugar beet harvesters brought about a breakthrough and led to the founding of Reichhardt GmbH Steuerungstechnik in 1996.
As a pioneer in precision farming, the Hessian electronics company was keen to automate vehicle steering and relieve drivers of routine tasks. At the same time, the aim was to save resources and improve results. Reichhardt's goal was to retrofit existing fleets so that it could reap the benefits of new developments as quickly as possible. Based on ultrasonic sensors for guidance, Reichhardt's PSR steering system was presented at Agritechnica in 1999 in collaboration with John Deere. In 2003, it was presented as a German alternative on a field in North Dakota and supplemented with GPS in 2006. In 2009, it was awarded the DLG Silver Medal at Agritechnica for its connection to the ISOBUS. At the same time, Reichhardt's flexible TAC row sensor conquered corn choppers and combine harvesters.
In 2011, RTK CLUE not only won the silver medal, but also introduced a completely new system and distribution model for providing RTK correction data. Today, thousands of farmers rely on it.
GREEN FIT was developed in 2019 as a result of many years of collaboration with John Deere. To date, it is the only authorized interface to the John Deere AutoTrac™ system that can be used in its entirety on third-party vehicles.
SMART COMMAND is a completely new smart farming application. With many further expansion stages, it will meet all the requirements of modern agriculture in the future.
Today, apps, tablets, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and autonomy define everyday life. At Reichhardt, the pursuit of sustainability, the challenges of climate change, social changes, and responsibility for tomorrow continue to drive developments.
