Following the first dynamo manufacturing in Turkey, ME-SA Elektro Diesel A.Ş. was founded in partnership with Nirun Şahingiray, the Turkish Distributor of "Lucas" branded products at the time.

The company has become a foreign direct investment as a result of Lucas Industries Plc., the UK-based giant company, becoming a shareholder of ME-SA Elektro Dizel A.Ş. in 1982, and later on the company’s name was changed to Lucas Elektrik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.

In the 1998, the company's foreign partner, Lucas Industries, had chosed to exit the electrical products market and transfer the company's factories around the world. With the purchase of Lucas Industries Plc. shares by local shareholders in 1998, the company has become a fully domestic company and enhanced its power following its move to the new factory building on a 26.000 m2 plot of land in Sakarya's 1st Organized Industrial Zone.

Lucas Elektrik strengthened its position in this industry by securing technical support and license agreements with Mando Machinery, a major South Korean corporation, and later with Mitsubishi Electric, the giant Japanese company.

Within the scope of R&D studies carried out with the strength and meticulousness acquired from its origin and expertise, Lucas Elektrik A.Ş. has reached the ability to develop its own alternator and starter motors in the 2000s.

Due to its ability to design and manufacture a large number of the sub-components in house, contrary to the usual practice, the company can provide tailored solutions to the requests of its customers.
