Kornél Czíria is an expert in image analysis and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with a strong academic background and extensive practical experience in precision agriculture technologies. He graduated from Brno University of Technology (2010–2016) as Dipl.-Ing. with a specialization in Geodesy and Geoinformatics.
His professional career is marked by significant leadership roles in precision agriculture projects across five European countries—Germany, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary—focusing on variable-rate and targeted pesticide applications. Kornél’s core expertise encompasses photogrammetry, geoinformation systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Notably, Kornél has coordinated commercial research aimed at utilizing UAV data to create precise prescription maps for selective herbicide application. He has also led the development of innovative software tools for automating the generation of application maps, supported by the European Space Agency.
His most prominent projects include:
OPPIK Application Project Call VIII (SKYMAPS): Research on UAV data application for selective herbicide maps. (CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/20_321/0024838)
OPPIK Application Project Call IX: Developing super-resolution drone imagery for scalable, AI-driven precision agriculture. (CZ.01.1.02/0.0/0.0/21_374/0027308)
Kornél's contributions have earned prestigious recognition, notably the Grand Prix Techagro award for drone-based field trial evaluation software, underlining his commitment to advancing digital farming solutions.
Kornél is currently serving as CTO at Skymaps s.r.o. (2016- )

CultiWise is an AI-powered precision farming platform using drone imagery to detect crops, weeds, pests, and diseases at plant level. Within minutes, it generates machine-ready prescription maps that direct sprayers to apply treatments only where needed. This targeted spot-spraying approach can reduce pesticide use by up to 90% while protecting yields and cutting costs. Trained on over 2 million data points, making CultiWise one of the most robust crop and weed recognition systems, it recognizes major crops, 30+ weed species, pests, and diseases, and allows farmers to train their own models in just a few clicks, which is a game-changer. Compatible with any standard drone and farm machinery.
